Houston ISD is partnering with Dyad Consultants for the 2025-2026 school year!A Dyad Consultant is a skilled community member who brings a unique talent or area of expertise—such as photography, gardening, boxing, golf, yoga, spin, videography, piano, guitar, and more—into the classroom. Dyad Consultants are contractors who partner with HISD schools on a part-time basis at $30/hour, delivering high-impact enrichment experiences that are often unavailable across traditional K–8 campuses. If you have a passion for transforming student lives and sharing your craft, consider becoming a Dyad Consultant with the district!

WHAT IS DYAD?
Dyad Specialty Classes are unique offerings provided to students during the school day to ensure they are exposed to a wide range of enriching experiences. These classes are grounded in the belief that meaningful learning stems from the acquisition of three key elements: knowledge, experience, and perspective. Dyad Specialty Classes create opportunities that many students might not otherwise have access to, broadening their horizons in impactful ways. While often mistaken for an acronym, Dyad simply refers to something made up of two parts—a pair—emphasizing collaboration and connection.

WHAT ARE DYAD SPECIALTY CLASSES?
Dyad Specialty Classes are offered to all NES campuses and serve students in grades 3–8. These classes take place during the school day to ensure students are exposed to a wide variety of enriching experiences. Dyad offerings fall into four core categories: Fitness, Music and Fine Arts, 21st-Century Media and Technology, and Hands-On Science. Each class is designed to broaden students’ horizons by combining knowledge, experience, and perspective.

Dyad Specialty Classes provide all students with rich opportunities for experiential learning, equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in the world and workforce of 2030 and beyond. Through these classes, students build essential competencies in information literacy, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, creativity, and collaboration.
