Description

  • Peck Elementary School is a new school built to consolidate two campuses. The school, built with funding from the 2007 bond program, will accommodate 750 students. The original Peck Elementary was opened in 1951.

Computers, SMART boards and other technology are part of every classroom. These technologies encourage student learning and wireless internet gives students the ability to access computers throughout the building.

The classroom clusters are organized according to grade levels with support functions such as specialized teaching rooms, and computer and science labs, that act as a buffer between public spaces. The school is expected to reduce energy consumption by 15 percent and water consumption by 36 percent. Also, a specialized curriculum was created to utilize the school's LEED certification as a teaching tool.
